Bridesmaid Dress Shopping!

Hey Hive!

I've known for quite some time that I wanted the colors for the wedding to be in the blush/gold realm. At first, I thought that I wanted a rustic wedding in a barn, but after meeting with a particular florist, he truly help me see that the vision that I was describing to him wasn't necessarily a rustic one, but was more a romantic one. I was having so much difficulty really honing in on one theme, and was kind of doing a hodgepodge, which was making it a bit tough. So, his clarification really helped!

Anywho! Onto the colors...and then...the dresses! When I told Mr. MissBrittz that I really loved the colors blush and gold for our October wedding, he said, "Well, aren't those spring colors?" Er, he was kind of right. Every vision board that I had seen was tagged for spring/summer weddings. But, I was already completely in love with the color choices and didn't want to change, so, he suggested adding in another color. So smart! I loved that idea! We decided that a wine/mahogany would be a beautiful accent color to add, and would tie in better with the season as well.

Once the colors were chosen, it was time to choose the dresses. Being that I'm in San Francisco and my maids are back in Syracuse (and one in North Carolina and my Jr. Bridesmaid in Maryland), I had to choose a store that was available to everyone. I immediately started looking at David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo. I ultimately chose Alfred Angelo because of their dresses and their color choices. They had exactly what I was looking for!

I picked out the dresses online and then showed the girls pictures of them. Each of them said such wonderful things about the dresses and one even thanked me for the style that I chose. I was so happy with their initial reactions.

Then it came time for them to try the dresses on. Honestly, each of them said wonderful things about the dresses, and again, thanked me for the style that I had chosen for them. I was SO relieved by their reactions because I really hoped the girls would be happy.

I'm having quite a bit of difficulty deciding between the dark or the light for the 2 Junior Bridesmaids (above and below). The mesh top in the picture looks almost blueish, but it isn't like that in person. I think it is just to show that it is slightly transparent and not solid.

All in all, I'll have 2 girls in the blush color (Maid and Matron of Honor) and 4 in the Wine/Mahogany color. Then, I have the decision to make of which color to choose for the 2 Junior Bridesmaids. I keep going back and forth between the 2, so I am in dire need of your help, hive!

How did you pick out your girls' dresses? Did they have the option to choose which dresses they purchased, or, did you already have the style and color in mind?

Excited to hear about your dress shopping journey!

XoXo,
MissBrittz
