Oh my goodness, I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting to say that! No, wait..actually, I can: 7 years. I first fell in love with Weddingbee back in 2009 when I stumbled upon the site and Mrs. Gloss' blog. I am so incredibly excited and thankful to be sharing the Ice Cream Sundae wedding journey with you, and hope you'll enjoy being along for the ride!
First, a little bit about us and how we met:
I was living in Maryland teaching Special Education, and Mr. Ice Cream Sundae was living in D.C. Unbeknownst to us at the time (actually--we are just discussing this now), both of us moved to the area around late August 2012, upon graduation. Him from Louisville, Kentucky, and me from Syracuse, New York. Fast-forward two years: One random weekend, my friends asked me if I wanted to head out for a night on the town. They suggested this bar that they'd recently been to (Bar Louie), and thought I might enjoy it. I obliged, and got all dolled up (just in case Mr. Right [or Mr. Ice Cream Sundae] waltzed in). Lo and behold, Mr. Ice Cream Sundae's friends asked him if he wanted to do the same (minus the getting all dolled up part). I noticed him right away, but of course didn't want to be the one to say something first (yes, call me old fashioned). After what felt like forever, he finally walked up and asked me if he could buy me a drink. Here's the fun part--I don't drink often and was DD that night, so I said, "Actually, I'm not drinking." Real cute, huh? I think he was slightly taken aback for a moment, but he quickly responded with, "Well, water then?" Ah, so adorable. Quick on his feet and a gentlemen! Of course I accepted, and we started talking. As the night went on, we learned that we surprisingly had quite a bit in common!

Mr. Ice Cream Sundae and me are both are avid lovers of coffee, traveling, country music, and cheesecake. Such a lovely combination, if I do say so myself! We are spontaneous yet well-planned, and compliment each other quite well. He is calm, cool, and collected, and I tend to be a bit rushed and slightly anxious [moving into our apartment was an absolute delight--it was like watching the tortoise and the hare]. Our similarities are what initially attracted us to each other (and still do), but our differences create and maintain balance between us. The perfect combination!

We've decided on October 22nd, 2016 for our special day, and are so excited to be able to share our experience with you along the way! It has been quite the process attempting to plan a wedding from across the country, but with the help of our families and friends, we have somehow managed to make it work!
Last but certainly not least, where does Ice Cream Sundae fit in, you ask? I'll tell you! I am a fairly healthy eater on the regular, but when it comes to splurging, my go-to is ALWAYS ice cream. Mr. Ice Cream Sundae never puts up a fight to partake in this splurge, and knows just what to do when I've had a down right rotten day or need a quick pick-me-up-- enter: ice cream.
XoXo,
Miss Ice Cream Sundae
